CSense sponsors the Sustainability through Resource Conservation and Recycling 09 Conference

CSense is the main sponsor of the SRCR09 conference which will take place in Cape Town, South Africa on 4&5 April 2009. The rapid growth of the world economy is straining the sustainable use of the Earth’s natural resources due to modern society’s extensive use of metals, materials and products. An astute and conscious application and use of metals, materials and products supported by the reuse and recycling of these materials and end-of-life products is imperative to the preservation of the Earth’s resources. The realisation of the ambitions of sustainable use of metals, materials and resources demands that the different disciplines of the material and consumer product system are connected and harmonised.

CSense introduced at FiaMinas

Faiminas is the largest trade-show of industrial automation in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Last year it had about 8,000 visitors. It is estimated that this year the number of attendants exceeded that figure by far. Minas Gerais has the third largest industrial park of the country, behind Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, besides being recognized as an important pole for R&D and industrial automation services. The main vertical industries operating in the state are mining and steel, not to mention metals, automotive, food, textile, construction, chemicals and non-metal minerals. The trade-show, which is in its 4th year, presents the main solution suppliers for IA, ranging from small components to heavy machinery. Although the attendants were not constituted in its majority by CSense target public, due to a long existing partnership between Atan (a local leader SI recently bought by Accenture, now called AAIS – Accenture Automation & Industrial Services) and Aquarius (IA software distributor for GE Fanuc in Brazil) as well as some business opportunities already being developed by CSense with Atan, the event was considered a good opportunity to announce CSense and Aquarius future distribution agreement. All three companies have very positive expectations for their recent partnership.

CSense becomes an OPC Foundation Member

The OPC Foundation is dedicated to ensuring interoperability in automation by creating and maintaining open specifications that standardize the communication of acquired process data, alarm and event records, historical data, and batch data to multi-vendor enterprise systems and between production devices. The main advantage for the end client is that CSense software will now ease interoperability even further. CSense 4.2 already includes OPC HDA (Historical Data Access) and DA 3.0. OPC HDA provides access to data already stored. From a simple serial data logging system to a complex SCADA system, historical archives can be retrieved in a uniform manner. OPC DA (Data Access) is used to move real-time data from PLCs, DCSs, and other control devices to HMIs and other display clients. The Data Access 3 specification is now a Release Candidate. It leverages earlier versions while improving the browsing capabilities and incorporating XML-DA Schema.

New Release: CSense 4.2

CSense Systems is proud to announce the release of CSense 4.2. The new release is packed with powerful new features and enhancements. One of the great new features is support for calculating and displaying Statistical Process Control (SPC) statistics from your historical process data in the Wizards. Another great feature is the extended OPC support to include OPC Historical Data Access (HDA) and OPC DA 3.0. Many enhancements were made to the Wizards to improve ease of use and several new editions were added to the solution development platform (CSense Architect). New blocks with included support for .Net were added to allow you to extend the existing block library with your own .NET based components. Other new blocks include the Cause+ block and a PLS (Partial Least Squares) block. The new release also includes several smaller enhancements to the existing CSense troubleshooting platform. The upgrade to CSense 4.2 is available to all current users. Please contact your CSense account manager for more information on upgrade options.
