In today's faced-paced world, time is of the essence and literally means money in production. Therefore it is so important to be able to not only find root causes of problems rapidly but also to deploy process improvement solutions in a fast and efficient manner. The CSense Action Object Server enables quick deployment of real-time solutions for continuous, batch and discrete processes which were created using the CSense Wizards and CSense Architect applications. The user can also connect to any of these real-time solutions to do real-time data visualization, model and cause analysis, alarms and messaging, and probing any tag anywhere in the constructed real-time solution.

Enabling Real-time Deployment

CSense Action Object Server represents the on-line or run-time environment of the CSense product suite and consists of the Server Manager. The Server Manager manages the deployment of CSense solution blueprints (action objects). The CSense Servers provide the software infrastructure needed for a solution blueprint to be deployed and run. A CSense Server loads the blueprints assigned to it and makes them "alive", i.e., activates them as a running Windows service. CSense clients such as Architect and On-line Viewer are applications that connect to one or more CSense servers. On-line Viewer is the graphical user interface application that displays analysis results of a running solution blueprint in an on-line fashion. The CSense Architect application can also connect to the running solution blueprint and allows the user to not only do real-time model analysis, visualization and messaging, but also to probe any tag anywhere in the solution blueprint.

Product Benefits

  • On-line deployment of process improvement solutions
  • Smooth integration with HMI SCADA/DCS platforms
  • Integration with troubleshooting and solution software
  • Rapid implementation of solutions in real-time
  • Easy to use, minimal training required to deploy solutions
  • Real-time data visualization, model and cause analysis, alarms and messaging, and probing any tag anywhere in the real-time solution

CSense OPC Functionality for Plant Model Controller Scenario

CSense Architect

CSense's functionality includes data-driven modeling techniques such as non-linear and linear models, as well as the ability to embed both heuristic and fundamental models in the blueprint. Fuzzy Logic models and rules allow the development of expert control strategies. Fuzzy Logic models are developed using the CSense Fuzzy Editor, whereas crisp rules can be specified using Architect's scripting language functionality. CSense Architect also provides other building blocks such as state-based actions, non-linear optimization, CSense plug-ins (which allows users to extend CSense action objects by allowing users to develop their own blocks in any COM/.NET supported development environment), time-based functions, mathematical functions, statistical functions, data transformation functions, and a range of real-time and historical IO (input-output) data sources. The user can group these blocks into superblocks, which can contain other superblocks. Template superblocks allow for simultaneous updating of all superblocks that make use of the CSense User Template which also leads to more efficient loading and saving of large scale blueprints.

When to use CSense Action Object Server

CSense Action Object Server is used in conjunction with other CSense troubleshooting software to deploy solutions in real-time. It can be used as an on-line deployment server and interfaces directly with PLC, SCADA, Historians, etc.
In essence, CSense Action Object Server will help you fast-track process improvement by speeding up deployment and enabling real-time monitoring of solutions.
